Ingredients

  • 8 toast bread (slices)
  • ketchup (for spreading)
  • 200 g cheddar and gouda cheese (shredded cheese mix)
  • salami (a few slices)
  • 4 egg yolks (separated from the whites)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • arugula and mixed greens (for serving)

Steps

  1. 1

Prepare 4 slices of toast bread, pour ketchup over them, and spread it thoroughly over the entire surface.

  2. 2

Sprinkle the ketchup-covered slices with a portion of the shredded cheese mix (cheddar and gouda).

  3. 3

Place the salami slices on top of the cheese.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the salami with another layer of cheese and cover with the remaining 4 slices of toast bread.

  5. 5

Using a spoon, make an indentation in the center of the top slice of each toast.

  6. 6

Gently pour one egg yolk into each indentation.

  7. 7

Sprinkle the remaining cheese around the egg yolks on the toasts.

  8. 8

Transfer the toasts to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. 9

Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius (top-bottom heat mode) for about 12 minutes.

  10. 10

After baking, season with salt and pepper, then garnish with the arugula and mixed greens.

Notes

You can use any of your favorite greens for garnish. Baking time may vary slightly depending on the oven - watch for the cheese to be golden brown and the yolk to reach your desired level of firmness.
