Ingredients
- 500 g Chicken (Cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 tsp Black pepper (Freshly ground)
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- Salt (To taste)
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice (Freshly squeezed)
- 3 cloves Garlic (Freshly crushed)
- 0.25 cup Yogurt (Plain, whisked)
- 2 tbsp Heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Cooking oil
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 4 Whole red chilies (Dried)
- 0.5 tsp Cumin seeds
Steps
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces with black pepper, cumin powder, garlic powder, salt, lemon juice, and freshly crushed garlic.
- 2
Add a mixture of yogurt and heavy cream to the chicken. Mix thoroughly to ensure every piece is well coated, then set aside to marinate.
- 3
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil and butter.
- 4
Once the butter is melted and hot, add the whole red chilies and cumin seeds. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 5
Remove the chicken from the excess marinade and add it to the pan. Sauté on high flame for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally to brown the chicken.
- 6
Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to medium-low, and cook for another 8-10 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked through and tender.
- 7
Serve hot with roti, naan, or steamed rice.
Notes
The transcript mentions a yogurt and cream mixture for the marinade which provides the signature creamy texture. Adjust the black pepper according to your heat preference.
