Ingredients
- 4 Flour tortillas (Large, suitable for burritos)
- 500 g Ground meat (Preferably beef)
- 200 g Pepperoni (Sliced or cut into pieces)
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 200 g Provolone cheese (Sliced or grated)
- 20 g Butter (For cooking the meat and onion)
- 100 g Mozzarella cheese (Grated)
- 100 g Fried tomato sauce (Prepared tomato sauce)
- 50 g Cream cheese (Softened for spreading)
- Black pepper (To taste)
- Paprika (To taste)
- Onion powder (To taste)
- Garlic powder (To taste)
- Dried oregano (To taste)
- Salt (To taste)
Steps
- 1
Finely chop the onion and prepare the ground meat, pepperoni, cheeses, and sauces separately to make assembly easier.
- 2
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt without letting it burn.
- 3
Add the chopped onion and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring, until softened and lightly browned.
- 4
Add the ground meat to the skillet. Cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon, until completely cooked and no longer pink.
- 5
Season the meat with black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and salt. Mix well and cook for 1 minute more, until the spices are fragrant.
- 6
Stir in the pepperoni and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it begins to brown and releases some of its fat. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- 7
Warm the tortillas slightly so they become flexible. Place two overlapping tortillas together to form each burrito and spread cream cheese in the center.
- 8
Spread the tomato sauce, meat and pepperoni mixture, provolone, and mozzarella over each tortilla. Do not fill the edges too much so the burrito can be closed.
- 9
Fold the sides of each tortilla toward the center, then roll from the bottom, gently pressing to form two tightly closed burritos.
- 10
Brown the burritos in a dry or lightly greased skillet over medium heat, starting seam-side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, turning them until the tortillas are crisp and the cheese has melted inside.
- 11
Serve the burritos hot, cut in half if desired. The filling should be very hot and the cheeses completely melted.
