Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups broccoli (chopped)
  • 5 oz orzo (dry)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cheddar (shredded)
  • 1 package crackers (crushed; package size unspecified (video shows Ritz crackers))
  • 2 tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

Season the chicken with the paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.

  4. 4

Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

  5. 5

Add the chopped broccoli to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

  6. 6

Stir in the dry orzo and cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. 7

Add the chicken broth, reduce the heat to low, and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  8. 8

Simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the orzo is almost fully cooked.

  9. 9

Stir in the heavy cream, shredded cheddar, and cooked chicken.

  10. 10

    Add additional seasonings if desired.

  11. 11

Top with the crushed crackers and small pieces of butter.

  12. 12

Bake for 15 minutes, then serve.

Notes

The cracker package size is not specified. Additional seasonings are optional and unspecified. The post mentions approximately 20 minutes to put dinner together, but the explicit cooking directions include simmering and 15 minutes of baking.
