Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken tenderloins (patted dry)
- 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 2 tsp cornstarch (helps seal the chicken and helps spices stick)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- avocado oil spray (for the air fryer basket)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.
- 2
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil spray.
- 3
Pat the chicken tenderloins dry with paper towels to ensure the coating sticks properly.
- 4
In a large bowl, add the chicken tenderloins, smoked paprika, dried oregano, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, cornstarch, and olive oil.
- 5
Toss well until the chicken is evenly and completely coated; using your hands works best for this step.
- 6
Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd it. Cook in batches if necessary.
- 7
Air fry at 400°F for 10 minutes, flipping the tenderloins halfway through the cooking time.
- 8
Check that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 9
Let the chicken sit for a couple of minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
Don't overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if needed, especially if doubling the recipe. These are great for meal prep and can be served with BBQ sauce or honey dijon dressing. They are also delicious cold from the fridge.
