Ingredients
- 1.5 cup Oat milk (or milk of choice; plus extra for re-spinning)
- 1 scoop Protein powder (flavor of choice)
- Mix-ins (such as brownie bites, chocolate chips, or fruit; divided)
Steps
- 1
Combine all base ingredients (milk and protein powder) in a Ninja Creami pint container, leaving out the mix-ins for later.
- 2
Freeze the pint for at least 8 hours. Freeze without the lid to prevent a bump from forming in the middle, which helps protect the longevity of the machine's blade.
- 3
Remove the pint from the freezer and let it sit on the counter for 5-10 minutes to slightly defrost the sides and prevent sticking.
- 4
Place the pint into the Ninja Creami outer bowl and spin on the 'Lite Ice Cream' setting.
- 5
Remove the lid and use a butter knife to scrape down the sides of the pint.
- 6
Add a splash more milk to the center and re-spin the mixture. Repeat the re-spin process 1-3 times until the desired creamy consistency is reached.
- 7
Create a hole in the center of the ice cream and add about half of your chosen mix-ins.
- 8
Use the 'Mix-in' setting to incorporate them.
- 9
Top with the remaining mix-ins just before eating.
Notes
Freezing without the lid is a specific tip to ensure a flat top, which is safer for the Ninja Creami blade. You can swap oat milk for any dairy or plant-based milk preferred.
