Ingredients
- 400 ml fat free milk (skimmed)
- 5 g black cocoa powder
- 15 g sweetener of choice (author uses Pure Via sugar alternative)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 30 g vanilla protein powder (1 scoop)
- salt (pinch)
- 1 Oreo cookie (crushed, for mix-in)
- 1 Oreo cookie (crushed, for optional topping)
Steps
- 1
To a Ninja Creami pint container, add the 400ml of fat-free milk, 5g of black cocoa, 15g of sweetener, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 30g of vanilla protein powder, and a pinch of salt.
- 2
Whisk or blend the mixture directly in the pint until completely smooth and no clumps remain.
- 3
Place the lid on the pint and freeze for at least 12 hours until solid.
- 4
Remove the frozen pint from the freezer, place it into the Ninja Creami outer bowl, and press the 'Light Ice Cream' button.
- 5
Once the first spin is complete, use a spoon to make a hole in the center of the ice cream.
- 6
Add one crushed Oreo cookie into the hole.
- 7
Place the pint back into the machine and press the 'Mix-ins' button.
- 8
Top with an additional crushed Oreo if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Using black cocoa is essential for getting that authentic dark Oreo color and flavor. If the ice cream looks crumbly after the first spin, you can add a splash of milk and re-spin before adding mix-ins.
