Ingredients

  • butter (for greasing)
  • 1 carrot (approx. 170 g, cut into pieces)
  • 80 g frozen green peas
  • 1 brown onion (approx. 180 g, cut into quarters)
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 230 g button mushrooms (cut into quarters)
  • 400 g lamb mince
  • 50 g stout beer
  • 1 tbsp Meat stock paste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 600 g mashed potato

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a baking dish with butter and set aside.

  2. 2

Place carrot and onion into the mixing bowl and chop (Thermomix: 5 sec/speed 5).

  3. 3

Add olive oil and sauté (Thermomix: 5 min/120°C/speed 1).

  4. 4

Add mushrooms, lamb mince, stout beer, meat stock paste, and tomato paste. Cook (Thermomix: 15 min/100°C/reverse/speed soft).

  5. 5

Add frozen peas. Mix cornflour and water in a small bowl, then add to the mixing bowl. Cook further (Thermomix: 2 min/100°C/reverse/speed soft).

  6. 6

Transfer the lamb mixture into the prepared baking dish.

  7. 7

Spread the mashed potato evenly over the top of the lamb mixture. Use a fork to create a textured pattern on the surface.

  8. 8

Bake for 20-25 minutes (200°C) until the potato topping is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.

Notes

The source mentions using 'Meat stock paste' and 'mashed potato' which can be made using other Thermomix recipes. Ensure the mashed potato is warm or at room temperature for easier spreading.
