Ingredients

  • 250 g Pasta (pasta of choice)
  • 300 g Ground beef (ground beef)
  • 1 Red onion (red onion, finely diced)
  • 2 Bell peppers (yellow and red, cut into small pieces)
  • 80 g Baby spinach (baby spinach)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (garlic cloves, finely diced)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste (tomato paste)
  • 200 ml Vegetable broth (vegetable broth)
  • 200 ml Cream (light cream or heavy cream)
  • 50 g Shredded cheese (shredded cheese)
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika (sweet paprika powder)
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs (dried Italian herbs)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil (olive oil)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Finely dice the red onion and garlic cloves. Cut the yellow and red bell peppers into small bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to the package instructions until al dente.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and fry until browned and crumbly.

  4. 4

Season the meat with sweet paprika, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.

  5. 5

Add the diced onions to the skillet and sauté with the meat until they begin to soften.

  6. 6

Add the bell peppers, garlic, and tomato paste to the pan. Sauté everything together for about 3 minutes.

  7. 7

Deglaze the pan by pouring in the vegetable broth and cream. Cover with a lid and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  8. 8

Stir in the baby spinach and cook just until it wilts into the sauce.

  9. 9

Add the shredded cheese and stir until it is completely melted and the sauce is creamy.

  10. 10

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until well combined and coated in sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

For a lighter version, use light cream. Ensure the pasta is cooked al dente as it will continue to cook slightly when mixed with the hot sauce.
