Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken breast (cut into cubes or strips)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika (paprika)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (for cooking)
  • 2 Onion (medium, julienned)
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Honey (can be substituted with sugar-free syrup)
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped for garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

Season the chicken with salt, garlic powder, pepper, and sweet paprika. Mix well so that all pieces are evenly coated.

  2. 2

In a skillet over high heat with a bit of olive oil, cook the chicken until it is well browned on all sides.

  3. 3

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if necessary and begin cooking the onion.

  5. 5

Add the butter, honey, and a pinch of salt to the onions. Cook over medium-low heat until the onions are caramelized and have a dark color and soft texture.

  6. 6

Stir the reserved chicken back into the skillet with the onions and cook together for 5 minutes.

  7. 7

Add the heavy cream and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  8. 8

Finish with a touch of fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

You can omit the heavy cream and the recipe will be just as good. For a lighter version, substitute the honey with sugar-free syrup.
