Ingredients

  • 4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup warm water (up to 2 cups as needed)
  • 2 tsp yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey (optional)
  • 1.5 tsp salt (up to 2 tsp)

Steps

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1.5 to 2 cups of warm water, 2 tsp of yeast, 2 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tbsp of sugar or honey (if using), and 1.5 to 2 tsp of salt.

  2. 2

Mix everything together until a dough forms.

  3. 3

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

Place the dough in a bowl and let it rise in a warm spot until it has doubled in size, which should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  5. 5

Once risen, divide the dough into 2 or 3 portions depending on your preferred pizza size.

  6. 6

Preheat your oven to 430°F (245°C).

  7. 7

Shape your pizzas and top them with your favorite ingredients.

  8. 8

Bake the pizzas for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the toppings are bubbly.

Notes

This recipe makes enough dough for 2 to 3 pizzas. The sugar or honey is optional but helps with browning and yeast activation.
