Ingredients

  • 2 whole wheat bread (pre-toasted slightly)
  • 0.25 cup ricotta cheese (strained)
  • 2 tbsp blackberry jam
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • chili pepper flakes (pinch)
  • sprayable oil

Steps

  1. 1

Slightly toast two slices of whole wheat bread before assembling to ensure the sandwich doesn't get soggy.

  2. 2

On one slice of the slightly toasted bread, spread the strained ricotta cheese.

  3. 3

Drizzle the honey over the ricotta.

  4. 4

Sprinkle a pinch of chili pepper flakes over the honey and ricotta.

  5. 5

Add the blackberry jam on top of the other ingredients.

  6. 6

Top with the second slice of toasted bread to close the sandwich.

  7. 7

Spray both sides of the sandwich with oil.

  8. 8

Place the sandwich in the air fryer and cook at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes, flipping the sandwich halfway through the cooking time.

  9. 9

Take out of the air fryer and enjoy!

Notes

Straining the ricotta is important to prevent the bread from becoming soggy. Pre-toasting the bread slightly before adding the fillings is a key tip for the best texture.
