Ingredients

  • 3 small ripe peaches (peeled)
  • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 0.25 cup agave syrup
  • 0.25 cup coconut oil (May be replaced with vegan butter.)
  • 0.25 cup chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp onion (minced)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.125 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Peel the peaches. Remove and discard the pits, then cut the peach flesh into pieces small enough to blend easily.

  2. 2

Add the peeled peaches, rice wine vinegar, agave syrup, coconut oil or vegan butter, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced garlic, minced onion, smoked paprika, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, and salt and pepper to taste to a high-speed blender.

  3. 3

Blend on high until all the ingredients are fully combined and the sauce is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed.

  4. 4

Serve with your favorite summer barbecue dish, or toss the sauce with vegan chicken wings for a sweet-and-spicy coating.

Notes

The recipe lists coconut oil or vegan butter as alternatives. Store leftover sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator and stir before serving; coconut oil may firm up when chilled.
