Ingredients
- 2 soft tofu (packages or blocks, chopped)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp water
- 0.5 tbsp sesame oil
- 0.5 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp sugar (or allulose)
- 1 tbsp Korean red pepper flakes (optional (gochugaru))
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 scallions (finely chopped)
- 0.25 onion (finely diced)
- 1 jalapeño pepper (finely diced for extra kick)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the soft tofu by chopping it into bite-sized pieces or thick slices. Arrange the tofu on a serving plate.
- 2
In a small mixing bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and 3 tablespoons of water.
- 3
Add 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic to the bowl.
- 4
Stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar (or allulose), 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds, and 1 tablespoon of Korean red pepper flakes (if using). This forms the base of the sauce.
- 5
Finely chop the scallions, onion, and jalapeño pepper.
- 6
Add the chopped scallions, onion, and jalapeño to the sauce mixture and stir well to combine.
- 7
Pour the prepared sauce generously over the chopped tofu. Serve immediately.
Notes
This dish is meant to be served cold or at room temperature. For a lower calorie version, use allulose instead of sugar. The red pepper flakes (gochugaru) provide heat but are optional if you prefer a milder dish.
