Ingredients

  • 2 Beef steaks (Sirloin, ribeye, or your preferred cut; approximately 225 g each.)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (For cooking the steaks.)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (For the sauce.)
  • 3 Garlic (Minced cloves; approximately 9 g.)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream (Heavy whipping cream.)
  • 0.5 cup Beef broth
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley (Chopped; optional, for garnish.)

Steps

  1. 1

Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so they cook more evenly.

  2. 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot and lightly coating the bottom.

  3. 3

Season both sides of the steaks with the salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  4. 4

Place the steaks in the hot skillet and sear for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on their thickness and the desired doneness. They should be nicely browned on the outside.

  5. 5

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest while you prepare the sauce.

  6. 6

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Let it melt, making use of the browned searing bits.

  7. 7

Add the minced garlic and cook for approximately 30 seconds, stirring, until fragrant but not browned.

  8. 8

Pour the beef broth and heavy cream into the skillet. Stir well to incorporate the juices and browned bits from the bottom.

  9. 9

Let the sauce simmer gently for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reduces slightly and thickens.

  10. 10

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  11. 11

Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over them. Cook for 1–2 minutes more to warm them through and coat them with the sauce.

  12. 12

Garnish with the optional chopped parsley and serve hot, with the creamy sauce spooned over the top.

Notes

The searing time depends on the thickness of the steaks and the desired doneness. The recipe indicates approximately 620 calories per serving, but the actual value may vary depending on the cut of beef and the amount of fat used.
