Ingredients

  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Finely minced; used with the beef)
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (To taste)
  • 4 oz Mild cheddar cheese (Cut into large cubes)
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can Flaky-layer biscuit dough (Pillsbury Original Flaky Layers; estimated as 8 biscuits)
  • 1 Egg (Whisked, for egg wash)
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (Freshly grated; some for before baking and some for finishing)
  • 3 tbsp Salted butter (Melted, for garlic butter)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Finely minced; used in the garlic butter)
  • 1 tbsp Parsley (Dried or fresh)
  • Caramelized onions (Optional add-in)
  • Bacon (Optional add-in; cooked and crumbled if used)

Steps

  1. 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

  2. 2

Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the browned beef. Stir for about 1 minute, until the garlic is fragrant and the seasonings are evenly distributed. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool slightly.

  3. 3

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  4. 4

Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits. Stretch each biscuit into a roughly 5-inch circle, taking care not to tear the dough.

  5. 5

Place about 2 spoonfuls of the seasoned beef in the center of one dough circle. Add some shredded mozzarella and one cube of mild cheddar. Add optional caramelized onions or bacon, if using.

  6. 6

Fold the dough up and around the filling. Pinch the edges tightly closed so no filling can escape, then gently pull and shape the packet into a tight ball. Repeat with the remaining biscuits and filling.

  7. 7

Set the filled dough balls seam-side down on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them rest for 5 minutes.

  8. 8

Whisk the egg in a small bowl. Brush each dough ball with a thin, even layer of egg wash, then sprinkle with some freshly grated Parmesan.

  9. 9

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until the biscuit dough is deeply golden and cooked through.

  10. 10

While the bombs bake, combine the melted salted butter, finely minced garlic, and parsley to make the garlic butter.

  11. 11

Remove the cheeseburger bombs from the oven. Brush them generously with the garlic butter and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan. Serve immediately while hot and the cheese is melted.

Notes

The amounts of minced garlic, cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper were not specified in the source; practical estimates are provided where appropriate. Use caution when sealing the dough, since exposed filling can leak during baking.
