Steps
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne until al dente, following the pasta package timing. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Season the chicken breast with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat the olive oil in a pan. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden and cooked through.
Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and set it aside.
In the same pan, melt the butter.
Add the garlic and sauté it briefly, taking care not to burn it.
Add the heavy cream and milk to the pan, then simmer the mixture.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Add the spinach and let it wilt into the sauce.
Return the cooked chicken and drained penne to the pan. Toss until everything is evenly coated with the sauce.
Serve hot, with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
The source does not specify the chicken cut size, exact simmer duration, or a target internal temperature. Optional variations mentioned by the author: add red pepper flakes for heat, use half-and-half for a lighter sauce, add mushrooms or tomatoes, or substitute shrimp for the chicken.
