Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes (diced)
  • 0.25 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 jalapeño (seeded and finely chopped)
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 lime lime juice (juice of 1 lime)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • chili flakes (optional; a pinch, for extra heat)

Steps

  1. 1

Add the diced tomatoes to a bowl.

  4. 4

Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, and cumin. Add a pinch of chili flakes if using.

  5. 5

Stir gently until all the ingredients are well combined, taking care to keep the salsa chunky.

  6. 6

Let the salsa sit for 15–20 minutes so the flavors can blend.

Taste the salsa and adjust the lime, salt, or jalapeño to your liking.

  8. 8
