Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (browned and drained)
  • 1 lb pizza dough (or refrigerated crescent roll sheet)
  • 1.5 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish or line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess grease from the pan.

  3. 3

Roll out the pizza dough or crescent sheet on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.

  4. 4

Spread the cooked ground beef evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border at the edges.

  5. 5

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef layer.

  6. 6

Starting from one of the long sides, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.

  7. 7

Using a sharp knife, slice the log into rounds approximately 1 to 1.5 inches thick.

  8. 8

Place the rolls cut-side up in the prepared baking dish, arranged so they are slightly touching.

  9. 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  10. 10

While the rolls bake, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.

  11. 11

Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the tops generously with the garlic butter mixture while they are still hot.

  12. 12

Serve warm, optionally with ketchup or mustard for dipping.

Notes

For a more authentic cheeseburger flavor, you can add finely diced onions or pickles to the beef filling before rolling. If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before rolling to make it easier to work with.
