Ingredients

  • 90 ml Prosecco or dry white wine (Chilled; Prosecco is the classic choice.)
  • 60 ml Bitter, herbal, or citrus liqueur (Examples include Aperol, Campari, or another aperitivo liqueur; use according to taste.)
  • 30 ml Sparkling soda water (Chilled.)
  • Ice (Enough to fill the serving glass.)

Steps

  1. 1

Fill a large wine glass or rocks glass with ice. Use enough ice to chill the drink thoroughly without leaving much empty space.

  2. 2

Pour the chilled Prosecco or dry white wine over the ice.

  3. 3

Add the bitter, herbal, or citrus liqueur. Pour it gently so the drink remains lively and effervescent.

  4. 4

Top with the sparkling soda water and stir once or twice very gently with a bar spoon to combine without flattening the bubbles.

  5. 5

Serve immediately while cold and carbonated. A citrus wedge or slice may be added as an optional garnish, although the source does not specify a garnish.

Notes

The source describes the traditional spritz formula but does not provide exact measurements. The quantities above are a standard estimated single-serving proportion; adjust the liqueur and soda to taste. Keep all ingredients well chilled and avoid vigorous stirring so the drink stays sparkling.
