Ingredients
- 50 ml milk
- 50 ml water
- 45 g glutinous rice flour
- 5 g matcha powder
- 20 g honey
Steps
- 1
Add the milk, water, glutinous rice flour, matcha powder, and honey to a small saucepan while the pan is still cold.
- 2
Whisk or stir the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and the matcha and flour are evenly dispersed. Do not turn on the heat until the mixture is smooth.
- 3
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously as the mixture cooks so the flour does not settle or form lumps.
- 4
Continue stirring until the mixture thickens into a smooth, stretchy mochi-like consistency that resembles the consistency shown in the video. This should take about 3–5 minutes, depending on the pan and heat.
- 5
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the matcha mochi cool until it is no longer hot before adding it to drinks.
- 6
Add the cooled matcha mochi to a drink such as a matcha latte, using it as a topping or stirred-in chewy component.
Notes
The original source does not specify an exact cooking time or drink quantity; cook by texture until thick and smooth. Stir continuously to prevent lumps. Cool before adding to beverages.
