Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette (fresh)
  • 100 g Unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced or crushed)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • Salt (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

In a small bowl, mix the room temperature butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt until it forms a smooth paste.

  3. 3

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise or make crosswise cuts without cutting all the way through to the base, depending on your presentation preference.

  4. 4

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut surface of the bread, ensuring it penetrates into the crevices.

  5. 5

Distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese over the butter and finish by sprinkling with the parmesan cheese.

  6. 6

Place the baguette on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven, let it rest for one minute, and serve hot.

Notes

For a more intense flavor, you can roast the garlic before mixing it with the butter. If you prefer a softer bread, wrap the baguette in aluminum foil before placing it in the oven and open it for the last 5 minutes to brown the cheese.
