Ingredients

  • 10 oz argentine red shrimp (raw, finely chopped into mince)
  • 0.5 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp chives (diced)
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp red bell pepper (finely sliced)
  • 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 3 rice paper (sheets)
  • 0.5 tbsp chili crisp
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • cooking oil spray (to coat)

Steps

  1. 1

Finely chop your shrimp into a shrimp mince, dice your chives, and finely slice your red bell pepper.

  2. 2

In a bowl, add your shrimp, white pepper, chives, cornstarch, red bell pepper, oyster sauce, and minced garlic.

  3. 3

Mix the ingredients thoroughly to create your shrimp filling.

  4. 4

Wet a piece of rice paper with water and shake off any excess liquid.

  5. 5

Place your wet rice paper on a flat surface.

  6. 6

Place your filling in a long line from the top of the rice paper to the bottom.

  7. 7

Fold over the rice paper, encasing the filling and creating a long, thin log or burrito shape.

  8. 8

Cut the rice paper log into bite-sized pieces.

  9. 9

Lightly spray your air fryer basket with oil.

  10. 10

Place your shrimp pops inside and coat the tops with a quick spray of oil.

  11. 11

Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, or until the pops are crispy and golden brown.

  12. 12

In a small bowl, mix together chili crisp, soy sauce, water, and sesame seeds to make your dipping sauce.

  13. 13

Once cooked, remove the shrimp pops from the air fryer and serve immediately with the sauce.

Notes

Using rice paper instead of traditional dumpling wrappers significantly reduces the calorie count. Ensure the rice paper is pliable but not overly soaked to prevent tearing during rolling.
