Ingredients

  • 1 oz grenadine
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz water
  • 0.5 oz blue curacao
  • 1 orange slice (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp purple glitter sugar (or color of your choice)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (for rimming the glass)

Steps

  1. 1

Take the squirt of lemon juice and pour it on a napkin. Run the wet napkin along the rim of the glass.

  2. 2

Pour the glitter sugar on to a small plate and take your moistened glass and place it rim-down onto the sugar. Give it a little shake to get the rim nice and coated.

  3. 3

Add grenadine to the glass, then fill the glass to the top with ice. The ice will help slow the fall of the ingredients to come and help keep them separated.

  4. 4

From now on do not do any stirring of the drink!

  5. 5

Combine the pineapple juice and rum then very slowly add it to the glass.

  6. 6

Combine the water and curacao and again very slowly pour it into the glass.

  7. 7

Garnish with an orange slice and serve!

Notes

This is a delicious drink that is mesmerizing to look at. It takes a bit of patience to make sure you pour it in nice and slow to maintain the layers as much as possible, but the end result is beautiful.
