- 0.25 tsp black pepper (part of simple seasonings)
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder (part of simple seasonings)
- 2 onions (sliced)
- 0.5 cup chicken broth
- 0.5 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp butter (placed on top)
Steps
- 1
Place your preferred cut of chicken into the slow cooker.
- 2
Season the chicken with simple seasonings like salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 3
Add the sliced onions to the slow cooker.
- 4
Pour in the chicken broth and beef broth.
- 5
Place pats of butter on top of the chicken and onions.
- 6
Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours until the chicken is cooked through.
- 7
For crispy skin, carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and place it under the oven broiler for a few minutes until golden brown.
Notes
You can use any cut of chicken you prefer; bone-in, skin-on thighs work particularly well for the broiler finish. The combination of chicken and beef broth adds a deeper flavor to the sauce.
