- salt (To taste; for the chicken marinade)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (For the chicken marinade)
- 1 tsp black pepper (For the chicken marinade)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika powder (For the chicken marinade)
- oil (For frying)
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs (For coating)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 0.25 cup hot sauce (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- salt (To taste; for the spicy garlic sauce)
- 1 tsp black pepper (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 1 tsp honey (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika (For the spicy garlic sauce)
- 1 tbsp water (To loosen the sauce slightly)
- fresh parsley (For finishing, if desired)
- flaky salt (For finishing, if desired)
Steps
- 1
Place the thinly sliced chicken breast in a large bowl.
- 2
Add the eggs, hot sauce, minced garlic, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika powder to the chicken.
- 3
Mix thoroughly until every piece of chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.
- 4
Cover the bowl and marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes.
- 5
In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, hot sauce, garlic, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, honey, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and water.
- 6
Whisk the sauce until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the salt or hot sauce if needed, then set the sauce aside.
- 7
Place the panko breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.
- 8
Remove each piece of chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- 9
Press each chicken strip firmly into the panko breadcrumbs until it is completely coated. Repeat with the remaining chicken.
- 10
Pour about 2 inches of oil into a heavy-bottomed pot. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 11
Fry the chicken strips in batches, taking care not to overcrowd the pot.
- 12
Cook each batch for about 3–4 minutes per side, until the strips are deeply golden, crispy, and cooked through.
- 13
Transfer the fried chicken strips to a wire rack or a plate lined with paper towels. Let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- 14
Drizzle the spicy garlic sauce over the crispy chicken strips, or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
- 15
Finish with a little fresh parsley and flaky salt, if desired.
Notes
The source does not specify an exact frying vessel size, total oil quantity beyond about 2 inches, or an internal chicken temperature. Fry in batches and confirm the chicken is cooked through before serving.
