Ingredients
- 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced (The video recommends using thinly sliced chicken breasts; this amount is an estimate because the post does not specify the weight.)
- 0.5 cup full-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 0.25 cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 0.25 cup lemon juice (The juice of approximately 1 lemon.)
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 5 garlic (Finely chopped cloves.)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (Finely chopped.)
- 0.5 tsp seasoned salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp sweet paprika
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp dried basil
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
- 0.25 tsp ground coriander
- 0.25 tsp ground cumin
Steps
- 1
Place the Greek yogurt, olive oil, honey, lemon juice and zest, garlic, parsley, seasoned salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, oregano, basil, cayenne, coriander, and cumin in a bowl.
- 2
Whisk the mixture until smooth and well combined. It should have a creamy consistency and smell intensely of lemon, garlic, and spices.
- 3
Add the thinly sliced chicken and turn the pieces until completely coated with the marinade.
- 4
Cover the bowl or transfer the chicken to an airtight container. Marinate in the refrigerator overnight for the best flavor and texture; if you are in a hurry, let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
- 5
Heat a grill pan or heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Remove excess marinade from the chicken without wiping it completely clean to prevent splattering and promote browning.
- 6
Add the chicken to the hot pan in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pieces.
- 7
Cook the slices for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until browned on the outside and the center reaches 165 °F (74 °C). Adjust the cooking time according to the thickness of the pieces.
- 8
Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and let it rest for approximately 5 minutes before slicing. This helps it retain its juices.
- 9
Serve hot with a salad for lunch or alongside pasta for dinner.
Notes
The video also indicates that the chicken can be cooked on the grill, in an air fryer, or in the oven. Keep the chicken refrigerated while it marinates and discard any marinade that has come into contact with raw chicken; do not reuse it as a sauce without boiling it first.
