Ingredients

  • 10 Chicken drumsticks (About one family pack; score each drumstick with a knife)
  • 0.5 jar Pickle juice (Use enough to soak the drumsticks; the source does not specify the jar size)
  • 1.5 tbsp Kinder’s cowboy butter blend (Divided; use some for seasoning the chicken and a pinch in the finishing butter)
  • 1 tsp Paprika seasoning (Use enough to coat the chicken evenly)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (Melted for finishing)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley (Chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill (Chopped; use some in the pickle-juice brine and the remainder in the finishing butter)

Steps

  1. 1

Using a sharp knife, score each chicken drumstick with a few shallow cuts. Place the drumsticks in a large bowl.

  2. 2

Pour the pickle juice over the drumsticks. Add some of the chopped dill, turning the chicken so it is exposed to the brine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, flipping the drumsticks periodically so they brine evenly.

  3. 3

Drain the pickle juice completely from the bowl. Pat the drumsticks lightly dry if they are excessively wet so the seasoning adheres well.

  4. 4

Add the cowboy butter blend and paprika seasoning. Toss and turn the drumsticks until every piece is nicely coated.

  5. 5

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C), if your model requires preheating. Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer in the air-fryer basket, leaving space around them for the hot air to circulate.

  6. 6

Air-fry the drumsticks at 400°F for 20–30 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time so they brown evenly. Air-fryer temperatures vary; cook until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches at least 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part without touching the bone.

  7. 7

While the chicken cooks, melt the butter. Stir in a pinch of the cowboy butter blend, the chopped parsley, and the remaining chopped dill.

  8. 8

When the drumsticks are fully cooked and browned, transfer them to a serving platter. Spoon or brush the melted herb butter over the hot chicken, then serve immediately.

Notes

The creator does not specify the number of drumsticks or the size of the pickle-juice jar, so quantities for those items are estimated. Serve with any preferred side. Refrigerate leftovers promptly and reheat in an air fryer or oven until hot.
