Ingredients

  • 3 כפות גדושות Self-rising flour or all-purpose flour (Alternative: all-purpose flour with 1/2 tsp baking powder. Add more flour if the dough is too wet; the additional amount is not specified.)
  • 0.5 כפית Baking powder (Use only if choosing all-purpose flour instead of self-rising flour.)
  • 2 כפות Cottage cheese
  • Salt (A generous pinch, to taste.)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the chosen flour, cottage cheese, and a generous pinch of salt in a bowl. If using all-purpose flour, also add the baking powder.

  2. 2

Mix until the mixture comes together into clumps. Place your hands in the bowl and squeeze the mixture into a ball of dough. The dough should be soft and not sticky; if it is too wet, add more flour.

  3. 3

Shape the dough into one roll.

  4. 4

Bake in an air fryer at 180°C for 15 minutes, or in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30 minutes. Use one of the two baking methods.

  5. 5

If the roll is still underbaked in the center, turn it over and continue cooking for another 3–5 minutes, without parchment paper underneath.

Notes

The original presents two flour options and two alternative baking methods. The total preparation time is based on the air fryer time and does not include the possible additional 3–5 minutes or the longer oven time. Serve as a roll for a sandwich with a fried egg.
