Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (heaping)
  • 5 tbsp powdered milk (heaping)
  • dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher; as needed to coat the balls)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the peanut butter and powdered milk in a bowl. Mix both ingredients until you obtain a uniform mixture that is firm enough to handle with your hands.

  2. 2

Divide the mixture and shape it into balls of equal size, gently compacting them so they do not fall apart.

  3. 3

Place all the balls on a plate or tray and freeze them for a minimum of 30 minutes, until firm.

  4. 4

Melt the dark chocolate, 70% cocoa or higher, taking care not to burn it. You can do this in short intervals in the microwave, stirring between each interval, or in a double boiler.

  5. 5

Dip the chilled balls in the melted chocolate, turning them with a fork or similar utensil until completely coated. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off.

  6. 6

Place the coated chocolates on parchment paper or a nonstick surface and refrigerate them until the chocolate dries and becomes firm, approximately 10-15 minutes.

  7. 7

Serve the chocolates chilled or slightly brought to room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

The publication does not specify the exact amount of chocolate; approximately 100 g is estimated to be enough to coat about 10 balls, although this may vary depending on their size and the thickness of the coating. The original recipe indicates freezing the balls for at least 30 minutes before coating them and then refrigerating them until the chocolate is dry.
