Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Butter (Melted)
- 2 tbsp Fine sugar (The creator used a mix of caster sugar and brown sugar)
- 2 tsp Milk
- 5 tbsp All-purpose flour (Reduce to 4.5 tbsp for a softer, more cookie-dough-like consistency)
- 0.25 tsp Baking soda
- Chocolate chips (Optional; add an amount measured to taste and sprinkle a few on top)
- Ice cream (Optional; serve with a scoop on top)
Steps
- 1
Use a microwave-safe or oven-safe mug or small baking dish, depending on the cooking method you choose. Melt the butter directly in the vessel or in a separate bowl.
- 2
Add the fine sugar and milk to the melted butter. Whisk until the mixture is evenly combined.
- 3
Add the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Stir until a thick, cohesive cookie-dough-like batter forms, taking care not to leave dry pockets of flour.
- 4
Stir in chocolate chips if using, reserving a few to scatter over the top.
- 5
For the microwave method, microwave for 1 minute. The pudding should be warm and gooey; avoid overcooking so it does not become dry.
- 6
Alternatively, preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Bake the mug or baking dish for 8–9 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 7
Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips over the warm pudding, if desired. Serve immediately with a scoop of ice cream on top.
Notes
An air fryer should also work, but the creator recommends adjusting the temperature and timing because they may vary by appliance. The recipe is intended to remain soft and gooey in the center.
