Ingredients
- 1.5 lb Chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup All-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 2 Eggs (beaten)
- 2 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko or plain)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 0.5 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt (plus more to taste)
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- 1 cup Vegetable oil (for shallow frying)
Steps
- 1
Cut the chicken breasts into uniform, bite-sized nugget pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure the coating adheres properly.
- 2
Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, mix the flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- 3
In the second bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined.
- 4
In the third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- 5
Dredge each piece of chicken first in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.
- 6
Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 7
Finally, press the chicken into the breadcrumbs until evenly coated on all sides.
- 8
Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches approximately 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Carefully place the chicken nuggets in the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- 10
Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the nuggets are deep golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 11
Remove the nuggets from the oil and drain on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate. Season with an extra pinch of salt while hot.
Notes
For extra crispy nuggets, use Panko breadcrumbs. You can also air fry these at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a healthier alternative.
