Ingredients

  • 250 g Vermicelli (Rice or Glass Noodles) (soaked in hot water and drained)
  • 300 g Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 200 g Calamari (sliced into rings)
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 3 Garlic (cloves, minced)
  • 0.5 cup Fresh Parsley and Cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Ginger Powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (for topping)

Steps

  1. 1

Soak the vermicelli in hot water for 5-7 minutes until softened, then drain and cut into shorter strands with kitchen shears.

  2. 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil, butter, and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Add the shrimp and calamari to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the seafood is opaque and cooked through.

  4. 4

Stir in the chopped parsley, cilantro, paprika, cumin, ginger, salt, and black pepper.

  5. 5

Add the lemon juice and soy sauce, stirring well to combine the flavors with the seafood.

  6. 6

Add the prepared vermicelli to the skillet. Toss thoroughly to ensure the noodles are well-coated in the sauce and evenly mixed with the seafood.

  7. 7

Transfer the mixture into a baking dish or individual ramekins.

  8. 8

Top the dish generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  9. 9

Place under a preheated broiler for 3-5 minutes, or bake at 200°C (400°F) until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.

Notes

You can substitute the cheese topping with a Béchamel sauce for a creamier texture, as suggested in the comments. Ensure the vermicelli is well-drained to prevent the dish from becoming soggy.
