Ingredients
- 500 g Ground beef
- 1 Onion (small, finely diced)
- 2 EL Ketchup
- 1 EL Mustard
- 1 EL Worcestershire sauce
- 150 g Grated Cheddar cheese
- 1.5 Pck. Dough (e.g. fresh pizza dough or sheets of puff pastry or crescent roll dough; the source specifies 1–2 packages)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Melted butter or beaten egg (for brushing; amount as needed)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, if desired)
Steps
- 1
Brown the ground beef and finely diced onion together in a skillet until the meat is fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat.
- 2
Stir the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce into the ground beef and onion mixture.
- 3
Season the mixture with salt and black pepper, then let it cool briefly.
- 4
Roll out the dough and cut it into equal-sized rectangles or squares.
- 5
Place some of the ground beef mixture and a generous portion of grated Cheddar in the center of each piece of dough.
- 6
Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges firmly together, for example with a fork, to create a sealed pocket.
- 7
Place the filled pockets seam-side down on a baking sheet.
- 8
Brush the tops with melted butter or beaten egg so they become golden brown and glossy during baking.
- 9
Bake the pockets in a preheated oven at approximately 190–200 °C for 12–15 minutes, until the dough is fully baked and the cheese inside has melted.
- 10
Before serving, sprinkle with a little fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
The source specifies 1–2 packages of dough and either melted butter or a beaten egg for brushing, without giving exact amounts. It does not provide further details about the type of baking pan or precise baking sheet preparation.
