Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef (cut into strips or small squares)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 tallos celery (sliced)
  • 0.5 onion (sliced)
  • 1 zucchini (sliced)
  • 3 small carrots (sliced)
  • 1 broccoli (cut into florets)
  • sesame oil (for frying; can substitute with other oil)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • soy sauce (divided, used for meat and vegetables)
  • 3 dientes garlic (minced)
  • 1 pedacito ginger (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (approximate amount)
  • 0.5 cup water (for the slurry)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (cornstarch)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the 2 pounds of beef into thin strips or small squares.

  2. 2

Prep the vegetables: slice the green pepper, red pepper, 2 celery stalks, half an onion, 1 zucchini, and 3 small carrots. Cut the broccoli into florets.

  3. 3

Heat sesame oil (or your preferred cooking oil) in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Add the beef to the skillet and season with pepper and soy sauce to taste. Cook until the meat is browned, then remove it from the pan and set aside.

  5. 5

In the same pan, sauté the sliced onion with 3 minced garlic cloves and a small piece of finely chopped ginger until fragrant.

  6. 6

Add the zucchini, carrots, celery, and peppers to the pan. Add more soy sauce to taste and stir-fry for 2 minutes.

  7. 7

Add the broccoli florets, cover the pan, and cook for approximately 3 minutes.

  8. 8

Return the cooked beef to the pan and add approximately 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce.

  9. 9

In a small bowl, dissolve 1 teaspoon of cornstarch in 1/2 cup of water to create a slurry.

  10. 10

Pour the slurry into the pan and mix well. Continue cooking until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender.

  11. 11

Serve hot, ideally accompanied by white rice.

Notes

You can adjust the ingredients and quantities of vegetables to your personal preference. Serving with white rice is highly recommended.
