Ingredients

  • 850 g Chicken (cubed)
  • 1 cdta Pepper
  • 1 cdta Garlic powder
  • 1 cdta Salt
  • 3 Cdas Toasted sesame oil (divided; use 3 to 4 tbsp in total)
  • 2 Carrots (sliced; use 2 to 3 carrots)
  • 225 g Broccoli (raw)
  • 2 Zucchini (sliced)
  • 1 rama Celery (finely chopped)
  • 0.5 Green bell pepper
  • 0.5 Red bell pepper
  • 0.5 Onion (large dice)
  • 3 dientes Garlic (minced)
  • Bean sprouts (plenty)
  • Butter (a small amount to brown the garlic)
  • 3 Cdas Soy sauce
  • 2 Cdas Cornstarch (cornflour)
  • 2 Cdas Water (to dissolve the cornstarch)
  • 3 Cdas Oyster sauce
  • 0.5 Cda Sesame oil (for the sauce)
  • Green onion (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the chicken into cubes. Tip: it is easier to handle if you cut it while it is still slightly frozen.

  2. 2

Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

Brown the chicken in a skillet with 2 tbsp of toasted sesame oil. Once it is well browned, remove it from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add an additional 1 tbsp of sesame oil and brown the onion, carrots, broccoli, and celery.

  5. 5

When the vegetables are browned but still crisp, add the bell peppers and zucchini.

  6. 6

Make a well in the center of the vegetables, add a little butter and the minced garlic. Cook briefly, taking care not to burn it.

  7. 7

Mix everything well and return the reserved chicken to the skillet.

  8. 8

Mix again and add the bean sprouts. Let them soften and reduce in size, which will happen very quickly.

  9. 9

Prepare the sauce by mixing the soy sauce, oyster sauce, the remaining sesame oil, and the cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp of water. Pour the mixture over the chicken and vegetables.

  10. 10

Garnish the finished dish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Tip for cutting chicken: It's easier to cube the chicken while it is still slightly frozen. Ensure the vegetables remain crunchy for the best texture.
