Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes (Sebago or brushed potatoes work best)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp salt (Alternatively, use your favorite spice rub)
Steps
- 1
Wash and scrub the potatoes well, then pat them completely dry. You can cook more than two potatoes depending on the size of your air fryer and the potatoes.
- 2
Using a fork, pierce each potato 4–5 times.
- 3
Place enough foil on the bench to wrap each potato, and place a potato in the middle of each piece.
- 4
Rub the potatoes with the olive oil.
- 5
Sprinkle the potatoes with the salt, or with your favorite spice rub.
- 6
Wrap each potato securely in foil.
- 7
Place the wrapped potatoes in the air fryer and cook at 200°C for 40–50 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
- 8
Check for doneness. The potatoes should feel soft when squeezed, and a knife should slide easily into the center.
- 9
Slice the potatoes open, fluff the insides with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
For crispier skin, remove the foil with 20 minutes of cooking time remaining and continue cooking. For a faster method, microwave the seasoned potatoes for 8–10 minutes before wrapping, then air-fry them unwrapped for 15–20 minutes. The source does not specify particular toppings; suggested pairings include pulled chicken and gravy.
