Ingredients
- 1 Apple (diced)
- 1 tsp Honey (for caramelizing apples)
- 0.5 tsp Cinnamon (divided between apples and oats)
- 0.5 cup Rolled oats
- 0.5 cup Greek yogurt
- 0.5 cup Milk (any variety)
- 1 tbsp Chia seeds
Steps
- 1
Dice the apple into small, bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Place the diced apples in a small pan with a teaspoon of honey and a pinch of cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until the apples are softened and caramelized. Alternatively, place them in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until soft.
- 3
In a separate bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats, Greek yogurt, milk, chia seeds, and the remaining cinnamon.
- 4
Stir the oat mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- 5
Layer the caramelized apples on top of the oat mixture in a jar, or stir them directly into the oats if preferred.
- 6
Cover the jar and place it in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 8 hours, to allow the oats to soften and the flavors to meld.
Notes
You can use any type of milk (dairy or plant-based) and adjust the honey to your preferred sweetness level. For meal prep, these can be made in batches and stored for up to 4 days.
