Ingredients
- 10 lb LA galbi beef short ribs (Thin-cut crosswise beef short ribs)
- 1 cup Soy sauce
- 0.667 cup Sugar (Approximately 2/3 cup)
- 0.667 cup Sesame oil (Approximately 2/3 cup)
- 0.25 cup Mirin (Cooking wine)
- 0.5 Onion (Use half an onion)
- 0.5 Apple (Use half an apple)
- 1 cup Pear juice (Alternatively, use 1 whole Asian pear)
- 10 cloves Garlic
- 1 inch Ginger
Steps
- 1
Submerge the LA galbi ribs in cold water for 30 minutes to draw out excess blood.
- 2
Wash the short ribs thoroughly under cold running water to remove any bone fragments, then pat them dry.
- 3
Place the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, mirin, onion, apple, pear juice, garlic, and ginger in a blender.
- 4
Blend all of the marinade ingredients until completely smooth.
- 5
Pour the blended marinade through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, straining out all of the pulp.
- 6
Layer the ribs in a container, pouring the smooth, strained marinade evenly over each layer so the meat is well coated.
- 7
Cover the container and refrigerate the ribs for at least 4 hours. For deeper flavor, let them marinate overnight.
