Ingredients
- 0.3125 cup flour (Use all-purpose flour that is heat-treated, or substitute almond or oat flour labeled safe to eat raw.)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (Softened to room temperature.)
- 1 tbsp white granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar (Light or dark brown sugar, packed.)
- 0.5 tbsp milk
- 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
- salt (1 pinch.)
- 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips
Steps
- 1
If using regular all-purpose flour, place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Check that the flour temperature is above 165°F (74°C). If using almond or oat flour, skip the heating step. Heat-treated flour is not guaranteed to eliminate all bacteria; for the lowest risk, use an alternative flour labeled safe to eat raw.
- 2
In a separate bowl, add the softened butter, granulated sugar, and packed brown sugar. Using a fork or rubber spatula, press and mash the mixture against the side of the bowl until the butter and sugars are completely combined and smooth.
- 3
Add the milk and vanilla extract to the butter-and-sugar mixture. Stir until evenly incorporated.
- 4
Add the flour and pinch of salt. Fold until the mixture forms a cohesive cookie dough with no dry flour remaining.
- 5
Fold in the mini chocolate chips until distributed throughout the dough.
- 6
Enjoy immediately, or cover and store the cookie dough in the refrigerator.
Notes
The recipe is egg-free and uses milk instead of raw egg. The source notes that microwave heat-treating flour is not a guarantee of eliminating all bacteria; use a labeled safe-to-eat-raw alternative flour if you want to eliminate that risk. Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container.
