Ingredients

  • 4 cup mixed berries (Fresh or frozen)
  • 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (For the berry filling; choose either maple syrup or honey)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup almond flour or regular flour (Choose either almond flour or regular flour)
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (Choose either walnuts or pecans)
  • 3 tbsp butter or coconut oil (Melted; choose either butter or coconut oil)
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup (For the oat crumble)
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • salt (A pinch)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

Put the mixed berries in a bowl. Add the cornstarch, 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey, lemon juice, and vanilla extract, then toss until the berries are evenly coated.

  3. 3

Transfer the berry mixture to an 8×8-inch baking dish and spread it into an even layer.

  4. 4

In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour or regular flour, chopped walnuts or pecans, melted butter or coconut oil, 3 tablespoons maple syrup, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix until combined.

  5. 5

Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the berries.

  6. 6

Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the berries are bubbling.

  7. 7

Let the crumble rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm on its own or spoon it over a chia-yogurt bowl.

Notes

The post mentions serving with overnight chia pudding made with chia seeds, soy milk, and yogurt, then adding more yogurt before serving, but gives no quantities or full preparation details for that accompaniment. The crumble can also be served on its own.
