Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Greek yogurt (heaping tablespoons)
  • 0.5 cucumber (grated and drained)
  • 0.5 lemon juice (the juice of half a lemon)
  • 0.5 tbsp chopped fresh mint (mixed with the dill)
  • 0.5 tbsp chopped fresh dill (mixed with the mint)
  • 1 garlic (crushed garlic clove)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (approximately)

Steps

  1. 1

Grate the half cucumber using a box grater.

  2. 2

Make sure to squeeze and remove all the excess water from the grated cucumber with your hands or a clean kitchen towel; otherwise, the dip will be watery.

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, add the 4 heaping tablespoons of Greek yogurt.

  4. 4

Add the drained cucumber, the juice of half a lemon, the chopped mint, the chopped dill, and the crushed garlic clove to the bowl.

  5. 5

Pour approximately 2 tbsp of olive oil over the mixture.

  6. 6

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

Mix all the ingredients vigorously until they are well combined.

  8. 8

Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning or lemon according to your preference before serving.

Notes

It is essential to drain the cucumber well to obtain a creamy texture. This dip improves if left to rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving so that the flavors can meld.
