Ingredients
- 12 oz tagliatelle or fettuccine (uncooked)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion (thinly sliced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 2.5 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 0.5 tsp dried basil
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan (plus more for serving)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Add the uncooked pasta, ground beef, onion, garlic, butter, tomato paste, and tomato sauce to a large deep skillet or sauté pan.
- 2
Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream.
- 3
Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- 4
Bring everything to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, breaking up the ground beef as it cooks.
- 5
Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring every few minutes so the pasta cooks evenly and doesn’t stick.
- 6
Once the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened, stir in the Parmesan until melted and creamy.
- 7
If needed, add a splash of beef broth to loosen the sauce.
- 8
Top with fresh parsley, extra Parmesan, and cracked black pepper. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
If the sauce becomes too thick during the simmering process, add a splash of beef broth to reach your desired consistency.
