Ingredients

  • 5.5 chicken breasts (5-6 breasts)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • garlic powder (to taste)
  • garlic salt (to taste)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning
  • 2 blocks cream cheese (8 oz each, softened)
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • bacon bits (optional)
  • green onion (chopped, optional garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

Lay the chicken breasts in a single layer in a baking dish.

  3. 3

Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and garlic salt to taste.

  4. 4

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning packet, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon bits (if using). Mix until well combined.

  5. 5

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the seasoned chicken breasts.

  6. 6

Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes until the topping is bubbly and golden brown, and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).

  7. 7

Garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.

Notes

For easier mixing, ensure the cream cheese is truly softened at room temperature. This recipe is part of the 'Simple Suppers' series focusing on one-pan, low-stress meals.
