Ingredients
Steps
Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove.
Add the Korean rice cakes to the boiling water and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
Add the instant ramen noodles to the same pot with the rice cakes and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the noodles are tender.
Drain most of the water, leaving about 2-3 tablespoons of liquid in the pot to help create the sauce.
Stir in the ramen seasoning packet and the spicy sauce provided in the package. If you prefer a creamier consistency, add a splash of milk at this stage.
Add the shredded mozzarella cheese over the noodles and rice cakes. Cover the pot for 1 minute or stir constantly over low heat until the cheese is completely melted and stretchy.
Transfer to a bowl and top with a prepared egg and any included dried garnishes (like seaweed or sesame seeds) from the ramen packet.
Notes
For the best texture, ensure the rice cakes are soft before adding the noodles, as noodles cook faster. You can adjust the spice level by using only half of the spicy sauce packet.
