Ingredients
- 2 Eggs (boiled to preference)
- 2 tbsp Butter (for frying aromatics)
- 0.25 cup Onion (finely diced)
- 2 clove Garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 0.5 tsp Chili flakes (adjust to heat preference)
- 2 cup Chicken stock (more if making multiple servings)
- 1 packet Instant ramen noodles (including spice and sauce packets)
- 1 Corn on the cob (cut into smaller rounds)
- 6 Prawns (peeled and deveined)
- 2 Cheese griller sausages (sliced)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Place your eggs in a small pot of water and bring to a boil. Cook to your desired level of doneness (about 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled), then peel and set aside.
- 2
In a medium pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, frying until fragrant and translucent.
- 3
Season the onion and garlic mixture with paprika and chili flakes. Lightly stir-fry for about 1 minute to toast the spices.
- 4
Pour in 2 cups of chicken stock. Add the dry spice packet that came with your ramen noodles and stir to combine.
- 5
Add the corn pieces to the broth. Cover the pot and allow it to boil for about 10 minutes on medium heat to cook the corn and develop the flavors.
- 6
While the broth is simmering, heat a small amount of oil or butter in a separate skillet. Lightly fry the prawns and the sliced cheese griller sausages until the prawns are pink and opaque and the sausages are browned. Set aside.
- 7
In a separate pot of boiling water, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions until tender. Drain the water.
- 8
To assemble, place the cooked noodles in a large serving bowl.
- 9
Dredge the noodles by pouring the prepared buttery broth and corn over them.
- 10
Arrange the boiled eggs, fried prawns, and sliced sausages on top of the noodles.
- 11
Drizzle the spicy liquid sauce packet from the ramen noodles over the dish.
- 12
Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh parsley. Serve immediately, optionally with a side of savory beans.
Notes
The author suggests using 'cheese grillers' for the sausage component, which adds a creamy element to the spicy broth. If you prefer a more liquid ramen, increase the chicken stock to 3 cups.
