Ingredients

  • 225 g extra lean ground chicken
  • green onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 0.5 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 0.5 tsp brown Splenda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 7.5 wonton wrappers (7-8 sheets)
  • cooking spray
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 0.5 tsp sesame oil (for sauce)
  • chili flakes (pinch; or gochugaru)

Steps

  1. 1

In a medium bowl, combine the 225g extra lean ground chicken, chopped green onion, 1 tsp grated ginger, ½ tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp soy sauce, ½ tbsp sesame oil, ½ tbsp oyster sauce, ½ tsp brown Splenda, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp white pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

Preheat a pan over medium-high heat and lightly coat with cooking spray.

  3. 3

Place approximately 1 tbsp of the chicken filling mixture onto the pan for each dumpling, leaving ample space around each portion to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

Briefly wet a wonton wrapper with water and place it directly on top of one chicken filling portion. Repeat for all portions.

  5. 5

Pour about ¼ cup of chicken stock into the pan and immediately cover with a tight-fitting lid.

  6. 6

Steam the dumplings until the chicken mixture is cooked through, which should take approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

  7. 7

While the dumplings steam, prepare the dipping sauce by whisking together 3 tbsp soy sauce, ½ tsp sesame oil, and a pinch of chili flakes or gochugaru in a small bowl.

  8. 8

Once cooked, remove the lid and top the dumplings with additional fresh green onions. Serve immediately with the prepared sesame soy sauce.
