Ingredients

  • 6 oz tuna in water (1 can, drained (reserve the liquid to adjust consistency))
  • 8 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 2.5 garlic cloves (crushed (2 to 3 cloves))
  • garlic salt (a pinch)
  • 1.5 tbsp mayonnaise (1 to 2 tablespoons; the amount depends on the desired consistency)

Steps

  1. 1

In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, room temperature cream cheese, crushed garlic, a pinch of garlic salt, and mayonnaise.

  2. 2

Mix all the ingredients vigorously until well combined. If you prefer a less firm consistency, you can add a little of the reserved liquid from the tuna can.

  3. 3

Let the mixture rest for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend and intensify.

  4. 4

If desired, stir in optional additional ingredients such as chopped chives, chopped green or black olives, or chopped walnuts to add texture.

Notes

For a smoother texture, use a hand mixer. Optional additions like chives, olives, and walnuts add an excellent contrast of flavor and texture. It can be served with Wheat Thins or carrot sticks.
