Ingredients
- 750 g Ground beef
- 1.5 Onions
- 4 Garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp Yogurt
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1.5 tsp Paprika powder
- 1.5 tsp Pul Biber
- Chili (optional)
- 1 Lemon (juice of; optional)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (optional)
Steps
- 1
Place the onions and garlic cloves in a blender and pulse briefly until coarsely pureed.
- 2
Add the ground beef, yogurt, salt, pepper, cumin, paprika powder, Pul Biber, and optionally lemon juice and olive oil.
- 3
Mix everything thoroughly until a homogeneous, soft mass is formed.
- 4
Place a portion of the meat mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper. Place a second sheet of parchment paper on top and roll out the meat very thinly between them.
- 5
Carefully peel off the top parchment paper. Carefully roll up the bottom parchment paper along with the thin meat.
- 6
Repeat this process until the mixture is used up (makes approx. 5 rolls). Place the rolls on a baking tray.
- 7
Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) and bake the meat for 20-25 minutes.
- 8
After baking, remove the meat from the rolls (it falls out easily when unrolled) and shred into pieces.
- 9
Serve the meat in a döner bread with toppings of your choice (e.g., tzatziki, sumac onions, parsley, tomatoes).
