Viral TikTok Cinnamon Rolls with Heavy Cream

Viral TikTok Cinnamon Rolls with Heavy Cream

Store-bought cinnamon rolls are baked with heavy cream to make them exceptionally light, fluffy, moist, and reminiscent of Cinnabon. Optional brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon add a richer, caramelized finish before the icing is spread on top.

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes store-bought cinnamon rolls (The author recommends Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing; use the icing included with the packages or homemade icing.)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (Use 1/2 cup if making only one tube/package of cinnamon rolls.)
  • baking spray (For coating the baking dish; melted butter may also be used.)
  • 0.5 stick butter (Thinly sliced; listed as an optional addition.)
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar (Sprinkle evenly over the rolls; listed as an optional addition.)
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon (Sprinkle over the butter and brown sugar; optional.)
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese icing (Homemade icing, or use the icing included with the cinnamon rolls.)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

Coat a large baking dish with nonstick baking spray, or use melted butter. Arrange the cinnamon rolls in the dish with space between them so they can expand as they bake.

  3. 3

Pour the heavy cream evenly over the tops of the cinnamon rolls, allowing it to collect in the bottom of the dish.

  4. 4

If using the optional additions, distribute the brown sugar evenly over the tops of the rolls. Add the thinly sliced butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon over everything.

  5. 5

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or according to the package directions for the cinnamon rolls you are using. They should be puffed, light, fluffy, moist, and cooked through in the center.

  6. 6

Remove the baking dish from the oven and immediately spread the included or homemade cream cheese icing over the hot rolls.

  7. 7

    Serve immediately.

Notes

If using a different brand of cinnamon rolls, adjust the baking time according to that package's instructions. The source also notes that smaller, puck-shaped cinnamon rolls work but are not as close to the recommended Grands version. A reader variation uses 1 stick melted butter mixed with 3/4 cup brown sugar and a pinch of salt, poured over the rolls before baking to create a caramel sauce.
